Supplier Quality Engineer (m/f)

Your responsibilities:

  • Provide support in quality planning, control and improvement for engineering, manufacturing as well as our global procurement and supply chains to assure Oerlikon’s expected product quality
  • Implement and monitor product development at external suppliers in the product development process
  • Support critical suppliers and processes at the production stage
  • Organize and implement process release audits
  • Manage supplier escalations
  • Continuously improve the quality of delivered products and supplier processes through audits and supplier discussions
  • Provide management and support in the event of supplier complaints
  • Verify supplier manufacturing processes (PFMEA, control plans, CpK and PpK studies etc.) for stability and control
  • Perform supplier certification through supplier quality audits

Your profile:

  • Degree in engineering or another technical subject
  • Certification as 3rd party process auditor VDA 6.3 and 1st party ISO/TS 16949 auditor
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in quality, engineering and/or manufacturing in the automotive or autoparts industry
  • Practical experience with ISO 14001, change management and lean manufacturing processes as well as Six Sigma methodologies
  • Deep know-how in launching new products, customer-specific automotive requirements, VDA standards, system, product and process audits
  • Knowledge in measuring instruments and LPA audits, quality systems planning, incl. PPA, statistical problem solving and VDA standards
  • Familiarity with coating processes desirable
  • Excellent communication skills in English and German
  • Hands-on, solution-focused, structured and proactive team player
  • Willingness to travel regularly (up to 50%)
