Your tasks: As Head of the Institute of Polymer Engineering, you are responsible for its research profile as well as its commercial success. You anticipate industry demand for research topics and technology development and strengthen the institute accordingly. For this purpose, you foster your professional network. You lead a team of professors, academic and technical staff. Furthermore, you are responsible for the polymer engineering profile in the mechanical engineering degree programme. As a professor, you teach and supervise undergraduate and graduate students in the field of polymer engineering. In addition, you acquire and direct your own research projects. Your profile: You hold a university degree in materials science, polymer engineering, mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering and have several years of experience in industrial research and technology development. You are an expert in product and process innovation with a focus on high-performance polymers and composites in an industrial context. You can rely on your professional network in industry and academia in Switzerland and Europe for project acquisition. With your excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, characterized by entrepreneurial thinking and an effective academic leadership, you have the ability to motivate and lead an interdisciplinary team and to inspire students. Finally, you are able to lecture and communicate in German.
