Scientific Assistant
Composites / Simulation
as Project Manager in Applied Research

Your tasks: Collaborate in and manage various applied research projects in the competence field of structural mechanics; design/simulate composite structures; simulate the manufacturing process for fibre-reinforced compo­nents; model material behaviour of composite materials; develop manu­facturing and joining technologies; contribute to the further develop­ment of the institute’s core competencies; foster strategic partnerships with industry representatives; support teaching activities in mechanical engi­neering courses with regard to selected competencies in polymer engineering

Your profile: Very good degree (MSc or PhD) in mechanical engineering, material sciences or production engineering with a strong flair for numerical methods, modelling and experience in the field of plastic processing / production of composite components; know-how in characterization (mechanical and thermal analysis) or experience in joining technology is desirable; practical experience in project acquisition and project management advantageous; fluency in written and spoken German (working language) and English (project-related communication); personal initiative to work in a scientifically exciting and application-oriented environment; an independent approach and the ability to work effectively in a team
